From understated patterns delicately adorning hairbands and scarf seams, to skirts woven in bespoke tartan and blazers lapels with unique colouring – through its themes and details, a uniform can announce and embody a school’s character with a twist of thread. There is no feature more distinguishing than the individuality of a good school uniform.
At Juniper, we treat every school with distinction and strive to strengthen the character and identity of each. Our family-run ethos informs our model: instead of working loosely with a multitude of schools, we form strong relationships with a number conducive to a responsive and personal partnership. Advantaged by our local knowledge and historic involvement in the west London community, we are always propitiously placed to respond to a school’s unique needs. We ensure we are always easy to reach, and our well-versed local team is familiar with how our partner schools operate.
Our customers are families, who often visit us over many years as their children progress through school. We strive to provide the best experience possible for families over their children’s school careers from day one, and demonstrate our belief that they deserve nothing less than the smartest shop, the most elegant and intuitive website, a truly personal service, and the height of professionalism, knowledge and understanding from our staff.
The experience of fitting a child’s first school uniform will form a memorable part of a parent’s journey; we want families to remember their first fitting for all the right reasons, and to look forward to visiting us periodically throughout their child’s life at school. It goes beyond simply providing uniform to schools. Every family will be offered one-on-one service from our staff to try on uniform, and we offer children with disabilities private shopping times with specially trained staff. Most of our shop assistants are – or were previously – pupils of the schools we serve, and are themselves rich resources for top tips and can divulge all the ins-and-outs to new starters and their families.
We understand that children come in all shapes and sizes. Our experience in the industry provides us with a broad, deep knowledge of the sector, and has helped us form close relationships with our suppliers, enabling us to source specific, one-off clothing items without having to buy in bulk. Whether it’s a 40-inch blazer for a particularly tall 10-year-old or extra-slim trousers for the late grower starting Year Seven, we can always find a solution at no extra cost to families. Providing high quality uniform for schools at affordable prices.
In parallel with our responsibility to our community and families, we approach our ethical and environmental impact seriously, sincerely, and transparently. No item at Juniper is derived from unethical labour – we have personally visited our suppliers’ factories abroad to confirm this. No child should wear school uniform produced by another child’s labour. But while we maintain a global outlook, the vast majority of our products are made in the UK – from tartan cloth woven in Yorkshire to ties manufactured in Lancashire – keeping logistical footprints to a minimum. We have lobbied within the domestic industry to eliminate plastic packaging, and while the battle is not over, nearly all our clothing now arrives plastic-free. In addition, we have pioneered the uptake of ‘eco-fabric’, resilient, high-quality material made from recycled plastic bottles; this logo appears throughout our website, denoting items made from eco-fabric.
We believe that schools aspiring to be treated individually as unique institutions – not just another of 150 customers – will be best-served by Juniper. We offer the same personal, thoughtful, bespoke service to each family and partner.
We provide uniforms, individually.
To school staff and headteachers – if you believe we can improve the parent and pupil experience of your school, please get in touch with any enquiries. We look forward to hearing from you.
